oudiensie aan die kinders,

sweet van sy aanskyn

tap oor sy wang

Black Christmas 2002

Collection Jack Ginsberg.

“Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918), one of the most influential and the earliest of the concrete poets, included a poem, II Pluet (It is raining) in slanting typographical rain in his Calligrames.  This sculpture (Black Christmas) is the even more concrete conceptual equivalent).”

“Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918), II Pluet

Hier volg die lineêre vertaling deur Roger Shattuck

 It’s Raining

It’s raining women’s voices as if they had died even in memory
And it’s raining you as well marvellous encounters of my life O little
drops
Those rearing clouds begin to neigh a whole universe of auricular cities
Listen if it rains while regret and disdain weep to an ancient music
Listen to the bonds fall off which hold you above and below

Grieks of Latyns?

Apollinaire’s Calligrammes, a term he coined early in the century for the kind of shaped poem he believed he had invented for modernism (“Moi aussi je suis peintre,” he wrote), but in truth he was developing the latest avant-garde manifestation of what in Latin poetry was called carmen figuratum (figured poems).

CLOUD PIECE

Imagine the clouds dripping.
Dig a hole in your garden to
put them in.

Japanees….?

COLLAGE
Japanese tradition of collage poetry – poems copied onto sheets of pre-torn assembled pieces of delicately tinted paper, sometimes arranged in configurations such as landscapes.
The Isehu – a collection of thirty one-syllable waka poems by the 10th C poetess Ise.
18thC – European Collages made from butterfly wings, often by nuns and depicting religious scenes.
Victor Hugo’s collages painted over cut out shapes from blackened paper.
Berlin poet Christian Morgenstern (1871 – 1914) – collages to illustrate poetry.

(ek dink ek het hierdie inligting op wikipedia gekry)

mmm….Collage- wat van n speletjie?

Surrealist game: Parallel Collage.
Minimum 3 players. Each player gives 2 images and 2 lines of poetic text to the other players. All players use images and text, including their own, to construct a collage and collage poem.

Lekker speel hierdie seisoen….tot volgende jaar (hopelik)
